Listener Statistics Included in Podcast Your Sermons

Latest News on February 14th, 2012

Did you know that your Podcast Your Sermons account comes with Listener Statistics? We love feedback, and it’s great to hear that we continue to help make the process of podcasting that much simpler for our customers, especially when it’s important to know who’s listening to your sermons. Here’s what Scot Coleman from City on a Hill UMC in Woodstock, GA says:

“Yours is the easiest, no-brainer way to get our messages out to the public; also having the Stats was another selling point. [With another system] we never knew who, if anyone, was listening. We wanted to target the iPhone user, due to 80% of our members and congregation have iPhones. We didn’t want to mess with RSS hosts and having to edit XML files.”

Podcasting Continues Growth Into Mainstream

Latest News on December 14th, 2010

Music Industry News Network has recently published here the good news about growth in the public’s use of podcasting.  Bottom line: Americans are getting used to using and listening to podcasts of all kinds.  Some of the helpful statistics include:

  • The percentage of Americans who have ever watched or listened to a podcast is 45%, up from 43% one year ago. This equates to approximately 70 million Americans 12+.
  • The podcast audience has migrated from being predominantly “early adopters” to more closely resembling mainstream media consumers.
  • Podcast consumers continue to prefer consuming content at their desktop, not on dedicated media players, but mobile phone media consumption is surging. (Meanwhile, we’re working on our Mobile App here at Podcast Your Sermons!)
  • Podcast consumers index very highly for social networking behaviors.
